My two favorite quotes right now.
On parenting:
"The days are long but the years are short." - John Leguizamo (InStyle Magazine, July 2005, via Metrodad)
On life:
"everyone is as happy as they choose to be" - Abraham Lincoln, paraphrased by my mom. (Okay, before someone gets persnickety, the quote is really: "Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be." I like my mom's version better.)
Good quotes! I've loved John L. since forever. And the Lincoln one is particularly engaging since the man suffered from depression-- as featured in the new Atlantic Monthly: http://www.theatlantic.com/doc/prem/200510/lincolns-clinical-depression
ReplyDeleteYeah, she pointed that out when she sent it to me! Not the article, I mean, that he suffered severe depression and still had that attitude. Article looks neat, too bad we let our Atlantic subscription end...
